Style on a budget

recently asked the Twitterverse what they thought of online stores like Just For 5 pounds. Those that got back to me were really positive.
I'm a mum and a childminder. I love nice clothes as much as the next person but what I don't like is when I get the likes of "washable" paint on my clothes (it's never really washable!) and can't wear that piece of clothing again...not in public anyway!
Online stores like Just For 5 Pounds solves that problem for me. They have some lovely pieces on their website and if they did happen to get ruined at work...it's ok! It was only a fiver!
Just For 5 Pounds kindly offered to send me something in the post to review. I had no idea what I was receiving but I was pleasantly surprised!
They sent me a lovely black soft feel blazer.
In the photo it needs a quick iron but I wanted to get the photos taken before my wee man woke from his nap.
It's one of those blazers that you could dress up or dress down. I wore it to lunch a few days ago with a nice white top and jeans. I got a few compliments from friends too which was nice. They're so used to seeing me in boring work clothes. :-) It has padded shoulders (but not Pat Butcher style!) just enough to give me a shape. It also has a cute wee nautical style button that was impossible to take a decent photo of but I tried!

See...cute! :-)

I'll definitely be having a browse on Just For 5 Pounds in future. They're perfect for those that are shopping on a budget.

May Lust List

wedding lust list

I have a wedding to go to at the end of November. I know its ages away but I can't stop thinking about outfits, hair etc. Call me organised! ;-) So, basically this lust list is geared towards that.

1. Rene Caovilla beaded lace kitten heels - a steal at £795. ;-)
I can't walk in high heels. Its not a good look on me and I always end up in agony, going over on my ankle and embarrassing myself or both! Kitten heels are the best option for me but I'm really torn about what would suit?

2. Vera Moda blazer - £37
As said, the wedding is in November so I'm thinking I will need a wee blazer.

3. River Island jumpsuit - £45
This one is maybe a bit too casual for a wedding? Though, while making this list I was really struggling to find a smart one. I have a wee boy, a very active wee boy so for some reason I've got it into my head that a jumpsuit would be most comfy while I'm entertaining him in between the different stages of the day.

4. Selected.com Statement necklace - £33
I love a statement necklace and I'm particularly in love with this one at the moment.

5. Lauren's Way bronzing lotion - £11 in Debenham's
Time to perfect the old fake tan application again! I could go for a spray tan but it will be very close to Christmas and I'm Santa Claus so if I can do it myself then the money would be better spent elsewhere.

6. Up do for the wedding.
I love my hair off my face for weddings. Once its back its one less thing I need to worry about going wrong. One drop of rain and hours of straightening/curling is wasted!

This list is by no means the done deal and I know there's so much more to think about - bag, earrings, make up etc. I would love reader's input and suggestions. It will be the first time I will have seen some people since having my wee boy so the vain person in me wants to look the business!

April Wants & Desires

april wants and desires

These blog posts are self explanatory. They're basically a very small snippet of everything I'm currently lusting after. It changes daily!

1. Fossil Explorer Clutch Purse in black
This makes me sound so bratty but last summer I bought myself this purse in blue. I love everything about the purse.....except I'm bored of the colour & wish I could magically make it black!

2. CK One perfume
I know I had an "oldie but a goodie" in last month's post too but I seem to be reverting back to all the old favourites just recently. I love how fresh CK One is and I love that its unisex as I'm always saying that I sometimes love the perfumes that smell slightly "boyish". Odd, I know! :-)

3. E.L.F. Duo Eyeshadow in Butter Pecan
I've recently been hearing a lot of good things about E.L.F. so I really want to give them a go myself. I think this wee eyeshadow duo is a good starting point. I love brown tones and have always been told that they suit my eyes.

4. Essie Nail Polish in Marshmallow
With the warmer weather coming in it will soon be time to don the fake tan once again (I cannot catch a tan for the life of me!). I love these white shades because they look great against a tan, fake or real.

5. Tell Me About It Stud top
I'm a Grease fan so this top was right up my street. When I seen the top initially it was on the 8ball website. When I had the money to justify buying it, it had been discontinued....noooo!!!! I'm still keeping my eye out for it though.

6. Fake Bake Fair Self-Tan Lotion
Maybe its just because I'm on Twitter now but I've seen lots of people talking about how great Fake Bake is & how easy it is to apply. I want to see for myself!

Have you used any of the above products?
Would you recommend them?
